437,847. Knitting-machines. ARCADIA HOSIERY CO., 5th Street, Lansdale, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Weisbecker, F. G. ; 753, Hazel Avenue, Glenside, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) Oct. 5, 1934, No. 28589. Convention date, Aug. 7. [Class 74 (ii)] A knitting-machine yarn carrier consists of a bent metal strip having in the lower end a gradually deepening groove or slot 9 in which a coil spring 12 carrying a guide tube 13 is mounted. The construction permits the yarn carrier to yield to obstructions, such as misplaced sinkers, in either direction of travel. The yarn carrier may itself be springy as at the twisted part 16 Fig. 4 or it may be jointed at 22 Fig. 6, and controlled by springs 23. The improved carriers may be used when making plated and " split " work.
