Abstract

437,830. Soldering - irons. PARTRIDGE, G. W., and PARTRIDGE, H. E., 47, Avenue Road, Clapton, London. June 12, 1934, No. 17384. [Class 83 (iv)] The bit of a soldering-iron is secured in a holder comprising a tapered sleeve having one or more longitudinal slits and co-operating with an internally tapered ring, which is displaced to contract the sleeve to grip the bit. A shouldered soldering- bit 8 is inserted in a tapered sleeve 1 formed with four longitudinal slits 4 terminating in holes 5, the sleeve being contracted by an internally tapered ring 6. The taper may be about 1 in 16.
