Abstract

436,983. Securing lampshades &c. to holders. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BURBIDGE, A. J., Magnet House, Kingsway, London. July 4, 1934, No. 19729. [Class 75 (ii)] A lampshade 7 or the like provided with a substantially central hole is supported from an electric lamp holder by means of a spider member 1 having one end attached to the lamp holder by a shade ring or the like bearing on the edge of a hole 3 in the spider member, the other end being formed with an outwardly turned flange 4 to which a separable ring member 5 is adapted to be rigidly fixed by screws 6, Fig. 3, or like means, whereby the edge of the hole in the shade is held between the flange and the ring member. The spider member may have two or more legs 2. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the ring member 5 is formed with screw threads whereby it may be screwed upwardly to engage co-operating screw threads on the spider member 1. In the form shown in Fig. 6, engagement is effected by means of lugs 8 pressed out of each of the legs 2 and correspondingly shaped slots 9 in the ring member 5.
