Abstract

386,425. Electric lamp holders. KREUZLINGEN, F. D., 92, Hauptstrasse, Thurgau, Switzerland. Dec. 18, 1931, No. 35077. [Class 39 (ii).] An electric lamp holder comprises an upper contact-carrying part b, as shown in the Figure adapted to be secured to a ceiling or wall by a backplate a, and a lower part h which is arranged to be secured to the part b and is formed with a lamp-receiving socket connected to a cover f which encloses both mair parts. The holder is adaptable for either bayonet-jointed or screw-capped lamps, the construction of the member b being such that either spring-plunger or blade-spring contacts can be mounted thereon, and members h formed with bayonet slots are interchangeable with those having screw-threaded sockets. The back-plate a, which may be made of either metal or insulating material, is secured to the insulating member b by a screw c and nut d. The cover f is formed with an aperture e bounded at its upper end by an internal flange w provided with recesses to receive lugs m on the lower periphery of the member h, which is inserted upwardly through the aperture e and secured by a ring nut g screwed upon a threaded shank i. The socket h with the cover f attached thereto is secured to the contact carrier b by screws p which are located within flange-like extensions o at the upper ends of two members n forming part of the socket h, the screws being held in the extensions o by rings q and positioned so that they can be manipulated by means of a screwdriver inserted up through the interior of the socket. The back-plate a may be modified for attachment to a vertical wall, so that the lamp is held at an inclination to the vertical, the cover being also modified.
