Abstract

436,421. Spectacles. HADLEY CO., Ltd., and ROSSER, G. D., Portsmouth Road, Surbiton, Surrey. Dec. 19, 1934, No. 36460. [Class 97 (i)] [See also Group V] A spectacle frame is moulded under heat and pressure from a sheet of thermoplastic material to a shape in which the bridge is thicker than the lens rims. A plain sheet of material is blanked to the shape shown in which the bridge part 1 is of relatively great depth. The blank is placed in a mould in which material is squeezed into the bridge cavity from the lower portion of the part 1 so that the bridge is made thicker than the lens rims. The moulded frame is afterwards machined to the desired size. The material may be cellulose acetate or nitrocellulose.
