435,749. Television. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ, 12, Place des Etats-Unis, Montrouge, Seine, France. April 29, 1935, No. 12788. Convention date, May 5, 1934. [Class 40 (iii)] A cathode-ray tube effects horizontal analysis at constant speed of a film F which is moved continuously vertically. The light from the fluorescent spot S passes through the film to a photo-electric cell C, and part of the voltage in the amplifier G is fed back to the controlling- cylinder W of the tube to compensate variations in transparency or to accentuate brilliant details. The motor driving the film controls an alternator or a slotted disc D to produce impulses which trigger a saw-tooth oscillator B feeding the deflecting plates D1, D2 which move the cathode-ray horizontally. Synchronizing- signals for controlling receivers are taken from leads E. A carrier wave is produced by modulating the cathode ray by a high-frequency applied to the Wehnelt cylinder from a highfrequency oscillator O. Alternatively, the high-frequency is applied to a pair of plates perpendicular to D 1, D2, and a fine slot arranged before the path MN of the spot on the fluorescent screen. The vertical position of the luminous line MN is regulated by a potential on the deflector plates perpendicular to D1, D2.
