Abstract
434,955. Card clothing. CLEGG, E. C., 12, King Street South, Rochdale, and CARD CLOTHING & BELTING, Ltd., New Bond Street, Halifax, Yorkshire. March 12, 1934, No. 7732. [Class 120 (iii)] Card clothing comprises wires 5, Fig. 1, set in a foundation composed of a strip of woven fabric or leather 1, and a strip of sponge rubber 2 with or without vegetable, animal, or mineral fibres 3, the strips being secured together by vulcanization, rubber solution or a flexible adhesive. The exposed face of the sponge rubber 2 is faced with solid rubber or leather 4 vulcanized thereto or attached by rubber solution or adhesive. In a modification, the positions of the outside strips are reversed the solid rubber 8, Fig. 3, forming the backing while composite strips of canvas 6 are secured to the face of the sponge rubber 7.
