Abstract
434,344. Roller mills. LEHMANN,F.B., (trading as LEHMANN, J. M., [Firm of]), 108, Frieberger Strasse, Dresden, Germany. April 30, 1935, No. 12836. [Class 59] [See also Group XIII] In a water-cooled hollow roller for grinding cocoa, &c. having an internal cooling water delivery device for distributing cooling water evenly along the length of the roller and stationary water-damming and mixing means, the cooling water delivery device is arranged to function also as the damming and mixing means and includes cooling water delivery pipes located in the path of the centrifugal water ring within the roller and connected to a common inlet. As shown the roller shell 1 is provided with an end wall 2 which may be pressed into the shell and carries the trunnion 3. A pipe 4, held in a bracket 5, extends through the trunnion and is supported in the opposite end wall. Branch pipes 6 are connected to the pipe 4 and carry baffles 7 which break up the flow of water carried round by the roller. The pipes 6 are provided with inclined perforations through which water is projected onto the roller surface. The pipes 6 may be of waved shape.
