433,897. Composite boards. SCHIFF, G., 62, West End Lane, West Hampstead, London. April 27, 1934, No. 12746. [Class 145 (ii)] The core of a built-up board comprises strips 1 of wood or plywood arranged on edge ; the meeting ends 1<a> overlap, and pieces 2 are interposed at the outer ends to space the strips. If greater spacing is desired pieces 2 may be interposed between the overlapping ends 1<a>, correspondingly thicker pieces being interposed at the outer ends. In either case, further spacing pieces may be interposed at positions intermediate between the overlapping and outer ends. End strips 3, 4 are provided extending the whole length of the board. The core may be built up of any number of sections of strips 1 and pieces 2, the end strips 3, 4 being in one or more lengths. The core is faced with sheets 5 of veneer, plywood or other material ; a strip 6 may be secured to the edges of the board, as in Fig. 3, or may be tongued to fit a groove in the end strips 3, 4.
