Abstract
433,818. Electrolytic condensers. BRENNAN, J. B., Box 78, Fort Wayne, Indiana, U.S.A. May 31, 1934, Nos. 16244 and 16245. Convention dates, May 31, 1933 and Jan. 18, 1934. [Class 37] In the preparation of electrodes for electro. lytic condensers the surface is fine roughened by etching in an acidified solution of a metallic salt. For example, an aluminium electrode may be cleaned with borax solution, etched with a solution of nickel chloride acidified with hydrochloric acid, and then rinsed successively in cold water, dilute nitric acid, cold water, a weak alkaline solution and finally boiling water. Other metallic salts the acidified solutions of which may be used include copper chloride, iron chloride, or manganese sulphate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification, 399,400.
