W., 1, Thames Close, both in Leigh-on-Sea. Jan. 24, 1934, No. 2421. [Class 37] A tuning control includes a coupling between the condenser or inductance and the control knob so that while continuous adjustment can be effected, a step-by-step adjustment over the same wave-range is given when the coupling is operative. During the step-by-step adjustment the circuit of the receiver may be broken. A wheel 3 is held on the tuning shaft 2 by a bracket 9 and a clutch part 10 is engaged by part 11 when the knob 13 is pushed in. A tuning scale 14 is carried by the shaft 2 past the window 15. For continuous tuning the knob is pulled out rendering the parts 3, 10, 11 inoperative. During the step-bystep adjustment a plunger rides in the teeth of wheel 3 and between each adjustment the set may be silenced. Specification 430,415, [Group XL], is referred to.
