Abstract
Alkyl esters of glycine and of its N-alkyl derivatives are converted into their primary phosphates by reaction with substantially an equimolecular amount of orthophosphoric acid. The reaction is preferably effected at about 5 DEG C. in a solvent such as methanol, ethanol or ether. Examples are given of the preparation of the primary phosphates of glycine ethyl ester and sarcosine methyl ester. The products are of therapeutic value.
