Abstract
431,356. Anchors. LUCKING, D. F., Tregenna, Queen's Road, Felixstowe. Jan. 5, 1934, No. 491. [Class 113 (i)] Anchors are constructed with a shank 1 and three fixed flukes, of which one 4 is carried on an arm 3 extending from and including the flank and the other two 8, 9 are carried on aligned arms 6, 7, lying in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the arm 3. The weight of the arm 3 and fluke 4 is made substantially heavier than that of the other two and this fact combined with the fact that the auxiliary flukes project on the opposite side of the shank to the main fluke causes dragging instability when the main fluke is uppermost with consequent rolling of the anchor and final embedding of the main fluke.
