[Class 108 (iii)] [See also Groups XXXVI and XL] A support for electrical apparatus, particularly for metal-vapour rectifiers, comprises an insulating- body provided with conical end surfaces, or with end surfaces having conical recesses co-operating with conical ends of spiral springs, the other ends of which react against supporting-surfaces, or a member to be supported. The Figure shows an insulating-rod 1 having conical ends 2, 3 engaging conical portions of supporting- springs 4, 5. A sleeve 8 enclosing a circular spring 7 engaging a recess 6 in the rod supports, for example, auxiliary electrodes, grids, &c., which may be carried in cages arranged exteriorly of anode-protecting tubes. In a modification the springs 4, 5 are replaced by conical waisted springs and in a second modification by fusiform springs, electrical apparatus being mounted above the upper spring.
