Abstract
430,942. Epicyclic toothed gearing; pulley-hoists. FLIESBERG, E. A. M., 4, Stora Mossens Backe, Appelviken, Stockholm. June 26, 1934, No. 18818. [Class 80 (i)] [See also Group XXX] In an eccentric epicyclic gear of the kind in which the radial middle planes of the gear wheels coincide, the sum of the addenda of the co-operating internal and external teeth does not exceed the eccentricity, so that the difference in the number of teeth may be as small as between 1 and 4. Means are provided for relieving stresses due to inaccuracies in the teeth. In the form shown in Fig. 2, eccentrics 25, 27 spaced 180‹ apart are journalled together and freely supported between a fixed bearing 29 and the motor shaft 3. The eccentrics are driven at 31<a>, 31b by a flexible shaft 40 splined at 31 to the shaft 3, and carry gyrating gears 140, 150 meshing with fixed externally-toothed gears 170 and with internal teeth 180 on the driven member 32. In the pulley-block shown in Fig. 3, the shaft 3 carrying the hand-operated chain-wheel 35 is formed with the eccentric 38 and is carried in self-aligning bearings 290, 291. The gyrating gear 131 meshes with teeth 181 on the fixed casing and with teeth 161 on the hoisting wheel 37, which is supported on shaft 3 by a bush 36 extending inside the gearing so as to withstand tilting movements due to any irregularities in the meshing of the gear teeth.
