Abstract

430,278. Preventing dimming of windscreens. BALL, E. L., Walsal End Farm, Eastcote, near Hampton-in-Arden, Warwickshire. Nov. 15, 1934, No. 9281. [Class 20 (iii)] Air heated by some part of the motor vehicle is directed against the interior of the windscreen 8 through orifices 12 in a pipe 10, to prevent condensation, &c. thereon; or the air may be directed to the exterior of the vehicle at 15. The air may be heated in a chamber welded to the exhaust or by passing through the radiator head or oil chamber, the intake having a funnel-shaped opening and a gauze filter behind the engine or other fan. The opening 15 is closed by a plug 14 on an axially movable tube 10 having orifices which then register with those of the exterior tube 11. The heated air may be delivered between the panels forming a multiple-panelled windscreen.
