Abstract

430,266. Cutting vegetables &c. CLEMESHA, A., Bushells Hospital, Goosnargh, Lancashire. Jan. 5, 1934, No. 418. [Class 5 (i)] [See also Group II] A machine for cutting &c., nuts, vegetables, &c., comprises a rotary drum D having a perforated peripheral wall A provided with inwardly projecting spikes or cutters around each perforation and a rotary heater B or pressing member which forces the material against the cutting edges. The drum D is surrounded by a casing G to receive the ground material which is discharged through an outlet g<1>. The wall A is held against the side D by bolts d<1> and flange D<1> which may also carry the hopper A<1>. The hopper may be stationary and may be provided with peripheral cutting edges. The beaters B have inclined faces b<1> and brushes may be attached thereto when pulping fruit. The beaters B and drum D are driven in opposite directions through bevel wheels f, F, F<1>.
