430,246. Ejectors. KOBIOLKE, A. G., Gilderoy, and FITZPATRICK, A. W., Yarra Junction, both in Victoria, Australia. Dec. 11, 1933, No. 34848. Convention date, Jan. 20. [Class 71] In ejector apparatus for creating a vacuum, a conical nozzle 15 supplying the inducing water or other fluid is provided with an adjustable regulating cone 19 whereby a narrow annular aperture 25 is provided which supplies water in a finely divided state or film to a diffusion chamber 21 in a discharge nozzle 9 constructed as a Venturi tube. The cone 19 is hollow, and has grooves 26 arranged parallel or in spiral form to assist in creating a vacuum. The cone may be solid, bevelled or rounded at the outer end, or extended to form a double cone. One or more diffusion chambers 21 are provided. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, a modified form of tapered and flanged nozzle is described whereby the deflector cone is dispensed with. In a further modification, the parts rotate and are of disc form. The outer hollow discs have curved peripheries and are carried by a hollow air supply spindle driven by a pulley. The interior discs are similarly shaped and are connected to a depending tube flared to receive a screw or propeller blades to raise the inducing- water. The deflecting-surfaces are of V- section ; the base is positioned in annular restricted openings of an annular diffusion chamber. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
