430,193. Indiarubber springs. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., 32, Osnaburgh Street, London, LACEY, B. W. D., and CLARKE, W. V., Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. March 9, 1934, No. 7513. [Class 108 (iii)] A cushioning unit for use in vehicle suspension systems &c., comprises a plurality of relatively rotatable members, composed alternately of yielding and non-yielding material, bonded together and formed prior to assembly with a plurality of faces obliquely inclined to a plane at right-angles to the axis of the unit. As shown the unit is of cylindrical form, the members being rubber and metal rings 3, 4 interposed between end-plates 1, 2. The metal rings may be formed by pressing and the rubber rings by moulding, the rings superposed and the whole unit vulcanized. Dimensions are given for a seven-inch diameter unit. The spring-suspension mounting claimed in Specification 418,390 is disclaimed.
