[Class 81 (ii)] A device for holding a catheter permanently in the male urethra comprises two or more bands 1 of extensible material, particularly soft rubber, laid crosswise upon one another and secured together, the free ends then being folded towards one another and secured by a band 6 to form a sheath for the penis. The bands have apertures 7 for engagement with studs 8 carried by a piece of rubber, leather, or the like, 9, secured to a second piece of rubber, leather, &c., 3 which is strapped to the body. The pieces 3, 9, have a sleeve 12, with a cotton wool or like lining, surrounding a central aperture 11 through which the penis is passed. The securing means comprises a waist-band secured to lateral lobes on the piece 3, shoulder straps secured by a common strap to the waist band at the back, and buttock straps, secured to the underside of the piece 3 and to the waist band at the sides of the body. The front wall 5 of the sheath has secured to it a cylindrical chamber the front wall 14 of which, together with the wall 5, are provided with cruciform slits 16, 15, through which the catheter is passed from the rear before insertion into the urethra, the walls of the slits holding the catheter firmly in position.
