[Class 94 (i)] [See also Group VIII] A package comprising an article wrapped in a lacquered foil of cellulose acetate or regenerated cellulose is rendered fluid-tight by coating with a gel, e.g. gelatine or albumen, or a soap gel. Before applying the coating, the surface is preferably treated with a wetting agent. A dye may be incorporated with the gel coating or applied thereafter. For gelatine coatings, a small quantity of glycerol or polymerized glycerol is added to reduce porosity, and the gelatine may be tanned by treatment with furfuraldehyde, alum or paraformaldehyde. The Provisional Specification refers also to the use of collodion and rigid gels such as alumina and silica gels. Specification 413,488 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 418,449, [Group VIII].
