Abstract

429,467. Closures for collapsable tubes &c. SHELTON, E. C., 164, Highbury Hill, London. Oct. 9, 1934, No. 28881. [Class 125 (iii)] A cap or closure device particularly for a collapsable container for tooth paste, shaving cream, &c., of the kind comprising a cylinder a and plunger b, Fig. 1, and having a discharge orifice f normally blocked by a plug g, but wherein pressure of the contents causes relative displacement of the members a, b against the spring h to open the orifice f, Fig. 2, is characterized in that the tapered plug g engages the tapered hole f in a substantially flat upper surface of the cylinder a thus ensuring a positive seal. In a container for liquid the spring may be omitted the weight of the liquid when tilted serving to displace the member a.
