Abstract

429,328. Lubricating plain bearings. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN, 17, Artillerigatan, Gothenburg, Sweden. Oct. 3, 1934, No. 28353. Convention date, March 15. [Classes 12 (ii) and 12 (iii)] A plain bearing, having oil bath lubrication, com - prises, in combina. tion, a rotating ring 13 bearing on a ring 15, an axially extending flange 14 connected to the ring 13 and having its inner surface 20 facing the shaft 12 on a smaller radius than the bearing surfaces, a lubrication channel 21 leading from the surface 20 to the bearing surfaces, and a non-rotating annular member 19 embracing the edge of the flange 14 for preventing the latter from transmitting a rotary movement to the oil bath. As shown, the surface 20 is tapered with the smallest diameter at the outer edge, and the annular member 19 also embraces a part of the surface 20. In a modification for a radial thrust bearing, the inner bearing ring is of I-section, and perforated non-rotating annular plates for preventing rotation of the oil are arranged on each side of the bearing.
