Abstract
Colour binding media for paints and varnishes are prepared by adding silican tetrachloride, titanium tetrachloride, or both, to drying oils, such as linseed oil, which may be previously polymerized. The reaction between the oils and the tetrachlorides may be moderate by diluting the oils with a thinner such as white spirit. Resins, solvents, driers and pigments may be added to the media.
