Abstract
428,880. Axminster pile fabrics. MOHAWK CARPET MILLS, Inc., Amsterdam, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Underwood, G. J.; Amsterdam, New York, U.S.A.) Feb. 9, 1934, No. 4403. Convention date, April 3, 1933. [Class 142 (iv)] The fabric has a series of three double strand wefts 12, 13, 14, upper and lower stuffer warps 10, 11, two binder warps 16, 17 and pile tufts 15 looped around the middle wefts 13. The bottom wefts are of heavy woollen yarn, the others being of jute. There is one binder warp thread in each reed space and also one between each row of tufts, whereby long lengths of weft are exposed at the back. The wool yarn may be single, three or four ply.
