Abstract
428,780. Packing metal and like sheets. GRAY, L. H., Penrice Cottage, Pentrepoeth Road, Morriston, Swansea. Nov. 15, 1933, No. 31828. [Class 94 (i)] Metal &c. sheets are packed in a metal tray - like container provided with L-section metal stiffeners 4, 5, of the same thickness throughout which extend along the sides and/or ends in contact with the floor and walls of the container, the latter being closed by a metal plate which is soldered, &c., to the inwardly and downwardly bent edges of the walls. The container is folded up from a rectangular blank with the ends 6 turned over and brazed or soldered to the sides ; and the stiffeners comprise flat strips placed on the blank and folded up therewith, or they may be preformed, or be formed by folding the edges of the sides of the container downwardly and inwardly. The upper edges of the stiffeners may be brazed or soldered to the sides. The container and stiffeners are made of tinplate &c.
