[Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A building-element for use in constructing walls and other structures comprises at least two parallel walls 1 of wood or like material spaced apart by block-shaped connecting members 2 which are rigidly connected with, and spaced apart transversely and longitudinally of the said walls. Each element is open at its bounding edges and the members 2 are spaced inwardly from the edges of the walls 1 so as to permit the insertion of a wood or iron binder 3 for connecting adjacent elements together. The walls 1 may be of plywood and receive an outer covering 4 of cellulose. The members 2 may be of circular or rectangular cross-section, and may be connected to the walls 1 by gluing or nailing. Grooves may be provided in the members 2 for the reception of webs 5, Fig. 4, adapted to divide the space between the walls 1 into a number of compartments which may be filled with slag. If desired, the element may comprise more than two spaced parallel walls, and the connecting members are then disposed between adjacent pairs of walls.
