Abstract
427,846. Making boilers &c. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINERIEEN-EN APPARATEN FABRIEKEN MEAF, . (formerly NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINERIEEN - EN APPARATEN FABRIEKEN), 30, Croeselaan, Utrecht, Holland. May 30, 1934, No. 16098. Convention date, June 21, 1933. [Class 83 (ii)] In a boiler drum or other pressure vessel having a part which is weakened by perforations, say for the reception of tubes, made of metal of higher yield point than the other part, as described in Specification 400,885, the two parts are welded together in their flat state and then brought to their final form by bending or pressing. The two parts 1, 2 of a boiler drum are first welded along the meeting edges 4 of the flat sheets and then after bending welded together along the other edges 5. The metal at the welds has a yield point about midway between the yield points of the metals of the two parts. The part having the higher yield points preferably has a greater durability and resistance to corrosion than the other part.
