Abstract
<PICT:0427179/IV/1> A method of treating textile wadding or other materials in tufts with a gaseous fluid consists in moving the material in loose form along one or more tables or belts 1, 2, 3 which may be heat - conducting, turning - over or agitating, e.g. by scraper blades or toothed wheels, and applying the fluid to the material during such movement by means of jets 5, 6 spaced along the path of the material and arranged in longitudinally spaced groups, the jets in adjacent groups being oppositely inclined to the path of the material. The treating fluid preferably moves in a closed path being received after application to the material by a housing connected to a fan 7 which blows the fluid through a heater or moistener 8 to the nozzles 5, 6 preferably of the convergent type.
