Abstract

<PICT:0414146/IV/1> In delustring cloth in the "finishing" process, it is passed over a steam box with perforations covered with hessian or similar material and immediately afterwards has a current of air directed upon it. As shown, cloth 4 is passed over a steam box with an arcuate perforated top 3 which is covered with hessian and which may be supplied with steam through a pipe having downwardly directed outlets within the steam box, and is then passed over an air nozzle 8 which is inclined in the direction of motion of the cloth so that the air is carried along with it.
