426,885. Making heat-exchange tubes. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd., and BLOMELEY, H., Titanic Works, Lincoln. Nov. 3, 1933, No. 30601. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] [See also Group XIII] Soldering.-A wire winding b is wound round a rod a and inserted into a tube f, the winding being then caused to adhere to the inner surface of the tube, and the rod a being subsequently withdrawn. The winding may be secured by replacing the rod a by a stick of solder, the tube being then heated and rotated so that the molten solder is distributed round the inside of the tube and on cooling the winding is fixed in position. Alternatively the inside of the tube may be previously coated with solder or wires of solder may be wound between the coils of the winding. Heating the tube will then fix the winding in position. Specification 417,668 is referred to.
