Abstract

417,668. Straight - tube heat - exchangers. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd., and LAWRENCE, H. J., Titanic Works, Lincoln. April 10, 1933, No. 10692. [Class 64 (iii).] Heat-conducting tubes are formed with an internal wire winding to increase the conduction surface. A coil b is wound into an internally tinned tube c upon a flat rotated mandrel a. The ends are secured and the mandrel withdrawn to allow the coil to relax into a helix g in contact with the inside wall of the tube. The coil is secured in position by the application of heat.
