Abstract

426,303. Multi - coloured paper. HEDSTROM, O. H., c/o Hartford City Paper Co., Indiana, U.S.A. Aug. 27, 1934, No. 24649. [Class 96] Multi-shade, mottled paper, is made by running or splashing towards each other, from adjacent sources of supply, differently coloured fluids which intermingle and fall on to paper pulp on the forming-wire of a paper-making machine. The fluids e.g. containing oxides, or sulphides, of zinc or titanium, asbestine, with or without dye, beaten pulp, &c., are pumped into troughs 18, supported at 32, and are splashed upwardly and toward each other by prongs 28 on rotating shafts 29. The speed of the motors driving the pumps, and the shafts 29 are all independently variable, and the level of liquid in each trough is controlled by an overflow pipe.
