425,558. Receivers ; loud-speakers; horns. GRAHAM & CO., Ltd., A., Caxton House, Tothill Street, London, and VAUGHAN, C. H., 20, Cock Mannings Road, St. Mary's Cray, Kent. Oct. 26, 1933, No. 29732. [Class 40 (iv)] [See also Group XXXVIII] In a telephone receiver or loud-speaker particularly for use on ships, a number of screens of wire mesh are arranged one behind the other in front of the diaphragm, and are spaced apart by members provided with drainage apertures. As shown applied to a loud - speaker, one screen 10 is secured between rings 8, 9, which are held in position against a rubber washer 7 by screws 11, and other screens 12, 14 are held in the rings 8, 9 by split-rings. The screens may be of different meshes. The rings 8, 9 are cut away or pierced in register with drainage apertures 16 in the casing. The apertures 16 may be protected by louvres. The sound aperture is formed with slats 6 or louvres The casing comprises a part 1 containing the sound passage and screens, secured to a second part 2 which supports the other components. In a horn-type instrument the screens are at the mouth of the horn.
