423,721. Wireless receiving-apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Sept. 5, 1934, No. 25571. Convention date, Oct. 30, 1933. [Class 40 (v)] A combined condenser and highohmic resistance comprises an insulating support carrying a thin layer of resistance material, the resistance being entirely or partly coated with a conductive layer separated by a layer of thin dielectric. The conductive layer may be formed by squirted metal. The resistance layer and the conductive layer may consist of several separated surfaces to form a number of condensers by squirting the resistance locally at a number of points. The Figure shows a construction in which the resistance layer 2 has a helical form and the metal coating is a strip parallel to the axis of the cylinder. The apparatus is adapted to couple the output of the detector to the input of the following amplifier and serves as a filter for the high-frequency oscillations.
