Abstract

363,717. Condensers. SPARKSWITHINGTON CO., Jackson, Michigan, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Seeley, S. W.; 774, Audubon Avenue, Jackson, Michigan, U.S.A.) Sept. 23, 1930, No. 28433. Convention date, Feb. 11. [Class 38 (ii).] A condenser has a central metal electrode 10 within the fibre or like tube 9 upon which the alternate f oils and dielectric strips are wound, such electrode 10 forming the means for connecting one of the foils with a terminal tag 21. The parts are so arranged that at a predetermined frequency the foils have a capacitative reactance between themselves equal and opposite to the inductive reactance of the electrode 10 in association with one of the foils. In a modification, in place of the central rod an outer circumferential tube is used. In winding the condenser the foils are made to project beyond the dielectric one foil on each edge so that after winding the edges may be bent inwards to form a surface to which can be soldered appropriate metal discs 11, 14.
