Abstract

[Class 38 (v)] [See also Group XXXVIII] A switch for operating one or other of a pair of operating solenoids for a semaphore arm, adapted to be swung from a vertical position to either the left or right, and for illuminating a lamp mounted within the arm is shown in the Figures. Leads to the semaphore magnets are connected respectively to terminals 50, 48, a lead to the illuminating lamp to terminal 45 and battery to terminal 43. When the central portion 53 is depressed, terminals 45 and 43 are joined by stud 47, and the illuminating lamp is lit. When the switch cover, Fig. 6, is turned, the conducting strip 54, 55, 56 bridges either studs 44, 46 and 51 or studs 44, 46 and 49 to operate one of the magnets and illuminate the lamp in the arm.
