Abstract

422,898. Liquid-level pressure gauges. COSSOR, F., Accoson Works, Vale Road, Finsbury Park, London. Nov. 1, 1934, No. 31426. Addition to 395,153. [Class 106 (ii)] The parent Specification, which comprises a U -tube gauge of which one limb is formed as a cistern and the other as a pressure tube, a valve being provided between the tubes, is modified by operating the valve by means of a longitudinal movement of the pressure tube brought about by means of a screw cap at the other end of the pressure tube. The valve e is urged against a seat d in the base by a spring f housed in a screw plug g. The valve has a tubular extension i with a lateral aperture j. The screw cap m in the position shown in Fig. 1 has a collar which prevents the inner face of the cap from quite engaging the end of the pressure tube. When the cap is unscrewed and turned about so that the recess r faces the end of the tube it may be screwed further into the casing a and a washer s screwed against the end of the tube to force the latter down until the lower end abuts against a washer and moving down against the extension i opening the valve.
