[Class 135] A valve device comprises two independently actuated valves arranged in a single casing and adapted to control a single passage-way, the actuating means being interlocked so that one valve must always be fully opened before the second valve can be opened and the second valve fully closed before the first valve can be closed, so that the first valve is protected against scoring. The two valve spindles f, g project in opposite directions from the casing and carry at their inner ends oscillating disc valves d, e, co-operating with seats b, c. The spindle f is fitted with a disc m having a cam surface n extending 180‹ round its periphery which co-operates with a spring controlled locking bolt slidably mounted in guides carried by a bracket secured to the casing. The upper end of the bolt engages a hole t in a plate a secured to the spindle g to hold the valve e closed until such time as the valve d is opened, when the cam is rotated to permit the withdrawal of the bolt. While the valve e is open the end of the bolt is below the plate s, thus preventing the rotation of the cam plate. The two plates m, s, have projections adapted to co-operate with pillars on the casing to limit the movements of the valves. According to the Provisional Specification the required sequence may be obtained by means of a quadrant or disc form of valve, operated by a single spindle, and provided with a port which by arcuate movement covers and uncovers the inlet and outlet valve seating apertures. Further the required order of opening and closing may be secured by vanes moved transversely across the fluid conduit by a single spindle.
