[Class 52 (iv)] [See also Group XXXII] Spring mattresses or cushions are built up from aligned rows of bent wire spring elements each in the form of an open - sided figure with two outer arms 2, connected at one end by at least two inner arms 3, the outer arms having end and intermediate coils 4, 5, 6, through which connecting wires or the like are passed. The intermediate coils 6 have twice as many turns as the end coils. so that the arms of adjacent springs will be in alignment. Coiled wire spacers 10 of various shapes can be threaded on the connecting wires.
