[Class 52 (iv)] A spring filling for a mattress &c. is formed from a number of helical springs a ... f corresponding to the width of the mattress arranged parallel to one another from which the number of turns corresponding to the height of the mattress are, by means of clamping and bending irons, bent off through 180 degrees, and then the unconnected ends connected with one another by clamps, springs &c. s. The parallel rows of springs may, before being bent off, be intertwined or connected together by interposed helical springs of small diameter.
