420,136. Photogrammetry. ZEISS, C., [Firm of], Carl-Zeiss-Strasse, Jena, Germany. Sept. 20, 1934, No. 27009. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1933. [Class 97 (i)] An instrument to be used with a reflecting stereoscope for plotting maps from stereoscopic photographs comprises a plotting pencil disposed between two marks carried by holders and adjustable relatively to each other in the direction joining them, the instrument being adapted to move freely, i.e. without guides, over a table supporting the plotting paper and photographs. As shown, spherical glass plates k<1>, k<2>, having central marks l<1>, l<2> are attached by hinges Y-Y to supporting bodies a<1>, a<2> respectively. The body a<1> is secured to a rod c carrying a plotting pencil f and disposed in a sleeve e to which the body a<2> is secured. To enable the relative position of the marks l<1>, l<2> to be adjusted the rod c terminates in threaded spindle engaging a nut h rotatably mounted in the sleeve e. The adjustment is coarsely indicated by the edge e' of the sleeve e on the scale c<1> of the rod c and finely indicated by an index e<2> on the sleeve e and a scale h on the nut h.
