Abstract

412,652. Telescopes &c. BOUCHER, M. W. S., 127A, Earl's Court Road, London. Jan. 18, 1933, No. 1638. [Class 97 (i).] To facilitate focusing, a monocular or binocular telescope &c. is provided with a projecting element which can be initially set in alignment with a second element to indicate the focusing position suited to the user, so that the correct focusing position can be readily obtained by the sense of touch alone. The Figure shows a field &c. glass in which focusing is effected by rotating the eyepieces 2. Each eyepiece is encircled by a band 1 which can be turned about the eyepiece and is provided with an inwardly-projecting indicator 3, the bands being initially adjusted until the indicators are in alignment when the glasses are focused for the user. In the case of telescopes &c. having a single eyepiece one of the indicators or its equivalent is attached to a fixed part of the instrument.
