420,097. Swimming-pools. TAYLOR, F. M. DU-PLAT-, 36, Victoria Street, and POWER, E. F., 45, Tower Hill, both in London. May 26, 1933, No. 15208. [Class 26] [See also Groups X and XXIX] Walls of swimming-pools are formed of thin-walled hollow blocks A which are adapted to be laid dry and have rabbeted edges b on all sides, the blocks being so shaped that, when assembled in the wall, there are provided registering vertical cavities and horizontal passages, which are subsequently filled with cement or concrete from the top of the wall. Metal reinforcement is placed in the vertical cavities prior to the introduction of the filling. Each block A, as shown in Figs. 3 and 7, comprises two thin side walls a connected by two diaphragms c which are recessed at the top and bottom as shown at d to provide the horizontal passages. The blocks B at the base of the wall are also formed with rabbeted edges and are provided with side walls e, f, Fig. 7, which are splayed outwardly towards a horizontal base part. The wall f extends downwardly to the bottom of the block and the wall e, which is adapted to face the inside of the tank, extends only to the top of the base portion. When the blocks have been erected, the vertical reinforcement m, which is in the form of cages, is placed in position and is connected by means of junction members p to horizontal reinforcing members n which extend into the base blocks. The walls of the blocks may be provided at intervals with small holes to serve as a check on the complete filling of the cavities. Specification 9303/15, [Class 20 (iv)], is referred to.
