Abstract
419,968. Bolts; cotters ; stud &c. fastenings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and WHITEWAY, G. F., c/o Fraser and Chalmers Engineering Works, Erith, Kent. July 11, 1933, No. 19649. [Classes 44, 89 (i), and 89 (ii).] Means for securing a pin or shaft 1 in a bearing-plate, or other apertured member 2 comprises a spring plate 5 with prongs 6 shouldered at 9, which is slid into position with the edges 4 of the narrower portion of the gap between the prongs engaging slots in member 1. The prongs have claws 7 which snap over the edge of member 2 under the " set " of the plate, to retain the plate in place. The reduced or shouldered end 3 of member 1 which fits the aperture in member 2 may have flats 8, and the shoulders 9 of plate 5 have inclination or lead to facilitate entry into the slots.
