[Class 27.] Articles stored in piles; coin-action with stationary coin forming abutment and multiple coin.-Articles are stored in a pile 4 in a casing 2, and are delivered one at a time by a sliding drawer 5 normally locked by engagement between a pivoted detent 26 on the back of the drawer with the rearmost of rack teeth 9. The detent is turned into inoperative position when the drawer is closed by engagement with a cam part 10 on the rack member ; an inserted coin passes down a shoot 16, and comes to rest on a pair of spaced pins 14 on the back of the drawer, and retains the detent in this position to permit opening of the drawer. An alternative hole 15 is provided for one of the pins 14 to adapt the apparatus for use with a coin of different size. Metal strips 36 with up-turned and down-turned ends sliding on the bottom of the drawer support the pile of articles whilst the lowermost is being delivered. Coin-discharging mechanism.-The coin is dislodged from the pins 14 after partial opening of the drawer by a fixed abutment 27. Testing coins ; fraud, preventing.-The pins 15 are disposed at such a distance apart that undersized coins pass between them to a return shoot 30. A rack 8 with forwardly directed teeth, and engaged by the detent during outward movement of the drawer, ensures complete opening of the drawer before closure. The rack 8 may be replaced by a smooth track having a single tooth at its rear end. Coin-slit closing-devices.-A spring lamina 34 engaged by abutments 35 on the back of the drawer closes the coin shoot except when the drawer is thrust fully back.
