Abstract

419,642. Hydraulic transmission of power. EYNARD, E. M., 247, Boulevard Jean JaurÞs, Billancourt, Boulogne-sur-Seine, France. March 8, 1934, No. 7414. Convention date, April 7, 1933. [Class 69 (ii).] Means for controlling the motor of a hydraulic transmission apparatus comprises a differential piston, the smaller end of which is acted on by the supply pressure, and the larger end by a pressure determined by the load. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the hydraulic motor comprises a number of groups of radial cylinders 5a, 6<a>, and each longitudinal set of cylinders is connected by passages to a cylinder 13. The number of groups supplied with liquid is determined by the position of a slide valve 11, having a piston 14 acted on by the pressure of the liquid entering at 16, and a larger piston 12 working in the cylinder 13 and acted on by the pressure therein, a loaded valve 20 being provided. Camoperated inlet and exhaust valves 18, 21, are also provided. In another form, the slidable member 11 acts to vary the eccentricity of a radial-cylinder motor. In a further form, the motor has sections 23<a>, 23b &c., Fig. 4, each of the gear-wheel type, supplied from a pump 40, and the loaded valve 20 has a skirt 42. By turning the valve through 180‹ liquid is supplied to a second slide valve 11<a> to obtain a reverse drive.
