Abstract

418,966. Brushes. HALL, L. H., 24, McMaster Avenue, Toronto, Canada. June 11, 1934, No. 17204. [Class 19.] A collapsable brush comprises a rigid case 10, Fig. 3, a series of bristle bars 14<1>, Fig. 6, rotatably supported therein on toothed members 15 in mesh with a movable rack member 17 and a stationary rack 18 attached to the casing 10. The casing is closed by a lid 10<1>, Fig. 1, preferably carrying a comb 12. The upper racks 17 are connected at their ends by a cross member 19, Fig. 3. A member 20 pivoted at 21 is employed to operate the tufts by a pin 22 fitting into a slot 23 in the cross member 19. A handle 24 on the member 20 projects through a slot 25 in the casing 10 and can be turned forward and locked in position by a recess 251 engaging the casing.
