Abstract

418,857. Tap unions. WILLMOTT, A. R., Central Buildings, Station Approach Road, Coulsdon, Surrey. Sept. 1, 1933, No. 24341. [Class 99 (i).] A union, for connecting a flexible tube having an end coupling 6 to the nozzle 4 of a tap, comprises a metal member 3, which is screwthreaded at one end 5 to mate with the coupling 6 and is provided at the other end with a reduced extension 7 to engage the bore of the nozzle, and a surrounding rubber sleeve 9 adapted to embrace said nozzle. The extension may be provided with radially extending locking pins 11 to engage bayonet slots formed in the nozzle. In a modification the metal member 3 is located substantially at the middle of the rubber sleeve 9 and both ends are provided with an extension 7. Specification 376,962 is referred to.
