Abstract

[Class 137.] An air-directing device for ventilators comprises a member of hollow cylindrical, frustoconical or hemispherical form provided with an outlet, the member being divided along a plane oblique to its axis to form a base part 8 angularly adjustable about said axis, and a nozzle part 9 mounted on the base part and angularly adjustable relatively thereto about an axis normal to the plane of said division. The base part 8 has a flange 10 rotatably mounted in a base ring 11 at the delivery end of an air duct 7, which communicates with two supply ducts 32, 33 one for atmospheric and the other for hot or cold air, or one for hot and one for cold air. A valve 34 partially closes the ducts and adjusts the mixture. A valve or baffle 23 carried by a spindle 22 slides adjustably in a support 21 on the part 9 so that the air is diffused when the baffle extrudes, or issues in a straight path when the baffle is pushed in, or it may close the nozzle. The baffle 23 has a finger-piece 25 and is held adjusted by a spring-pressed ball 26 engaging a groove 27 in the spindle 22. A retaining ring 18 holds the nozzle part 9 against a lip 19 on the part 8 for angular adjustment.
